One of the things I love about embroidery is that, like painting, the possibilities are endless. I like the look of a floral/patterned piece of fabric with a line drawing on top. I also like how thin the line is when you embroider with a piece of thread as opposed to the multiple strands of embroidery floss.
This is a piece done by 100 Ladies
. Lucy Peterson does a great job capturing a woman’s form and her stitching is delicious. Her choices of fabrics are great and I love each and every one of her pieces.
Tracy over at raccooncat creations
has a great array of things in her shop, most nature/animal inspired. I have a soft spot for anything nature related in embroidery and raccooncat creations does not disappoint! Specifically, she has a great collection of these bird studies. The red work on the vintage floral fabric is beautiful and I can’t wait to see more from this shop.
And here we have a great spring piece from Cowboy Bunny
. First, I’m drooling over that fabric…..woah..ok I just got lost in it for a moment…I’m back. Her illustrations turned into embroideries are sweet and the rest of her shop is just as awesome as this piece.
Tune back next week to see more great pieces of embroidery from some really talented artists!
